Here is an entertaining and innovative treatment of the classic C.S. Lewis story. The heroic tale of love, faith, courage and giving; the life and death struggle for control of Narnia and the grandeur of the triumph of good over evil has enthralled audiences of all ages. This unique and excellent two-actor adaptation was toured by Lincoln Center. This delightfully theatrical and engaging adaptation brings the full story to life and captures the power of Lewis' famous novel in a short space.
When Jack trades the family cow (against its very vocal wishes) for a handful of suspiciously sparkly beans, he doesn’t just grow a beanstalk—he sprouts a full-blown catastrophe. Up in the clouds lives a food-obsessed giant, a sarcastic golden goose, who may or may not be trusted, and a harp who loves to tattle. Down below, Jack’s mom is one overdue bill away from selling the house and losing the farm. With sneaky schemes, wild disguises, and a chase that gets increasingly ridiculous, Jack must climb, bluff, and improvise his way to fortune—or at least breakfast. This fresh, fast-paced, and gloriously zany take on Jack and the Beanstalk turns a classic tale into a laugh-out-loud theatrical adventure.
