RENT the george

 

The Jeannette & L.M. George Theater makes a wonderful venue for private parties, corporate gatherings and other group meetings. Located less than one mile from the Galleria shopping domain, the George Theater can provide your and your guests a world class venue within an exquisite environment. The elegant, glass-enclosed lobby can accommodate roughly 400 (seated) and 500 (standing) guests. The 440-seat theater equipped with an advanced rigging system, cutting-edge lighting and state-of-the-art sound systems provides an intimate yet stunning atmosphere for patrons. The lobby and theater areas are available for rental on a limited basis, due to A.D. Players’ production season.

The lobby is included in all theater auditorium rentals and available for pre- and post-receptions in conjunction with rental of the theater auditorium. The lobby is also available for rental by itself. All lobby and theater auditorium rentals must be approved in advance.


 

THEATER AUDITORIUM RENTAL

(4-Hour Minimum)

  • Ushers - $832 - 13 ushers at $16/hour with 4-hour minimum

You may provide your own ushers if desired. These volunteers will receive training and oversight from our House Manager - 9 to 13 are required; must be at least 14 years of age; able to stand for long periods of time, navigate stairs, and assist in the unlikely event of an emergency. If volunteers arrive and do not fit these requirements, renters must agree to pay for additional ushers provided by A.D. Players.

  • Ticketing and Box Office Services - $50/hour (plus $4/ticket surcharge*)

There is a fee of $1,000 to use an outside caterer. A.D. Players reserves the right to approve your caterer.

No food or beverages, except bottled water, are permitted in the theater. The licensee is responsible for the caterer’s activities and must ensure that the caterer returns the theater to pre-event conditions. The licensee will provide a copy of the catering contract no later than ten (10) days prior to the event(s). We reserve the right to sell concessions at any event with proceeds going to A.D. Players.


 

building use

  • A.D. Players reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone.

  • A. D. Players staff reserves the right to observe performances and activities on a walk-in basis. 

  • All questions or need for stage/theater adaptations should be directed to the House Manager.

  • The public is not allowed in the backstage areas.

  • Under no circumstances may patrons stand or sit in the aisles of the theater.

  • No smoking allowed inside the facilities.  

  • No helium balloons, confetti, or glitter may be used anywhere in the facilities. 

  • No pins, tacks, nails, screws, fasteners, staples, tape, glue or binding agents may be used on the walls, floors or any surface of the facilities.  

  • The use of glow tape is permitted on stage as needed.  All rehearsal tape and/or spike tape should be removed at the end of the rental term. 

  • No changes may be made to the finish or appearance of the facilities’ furnishings or equipment.

  • The facilities must be left in pre-event condition at the conclusion of rental term with all furniture and equipment restored to original locations. 

  • Lighting and sound must be restored to pre-event condition.

load-in & load-out

  • All load-in and load-out scheduling will be coordinated with the point of contact.

  • All load-in and load-out will be allowed in designated areas only.  

  • Stage scenery may not be constructed on stage or backstage. Any construction/building or painting necessary in the shop area must be approved prior to load in. Only assembly and touch ups are allowed on stage.

  • All scenery, equipment, decorations or rented items brought on site by licensee must be removed at the conclusion of the term unless licensee has prior approval for a scheduled pick-up the next day.

box office & marketing

  • Tickets can be sold through the A.D. Players Box Office. Licensee will be charged $50 an hour plus a service fee of $4 per ticket for each ticket sold through the A.D. Players Box Office.  

  • The licensee is responsible for its own Marketing and Promotions.

  • All printed materials using The Jeannette and L. M. George Theater name must be approved by A.D. Players PR/Marketing department.

 

SETTLEMENT

  • Payment will be made to A.D. Players. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. There is an additional fee of 3% for credit cards.

  • A deposit of 50% of the rental amount shall be paid at the signing of this agreement. This deposit will cover the securing of the agreed upon date(s) and time(s).  In addition, this deposit will cover any additional charges for items such as personnel labor, extra cleaning, minor building or equipment damage, and additional ticket fees after box office reconciliation. A check or invoice will be issued depending on the net balance of all outstanding items. A $500 additional deposit will be required for the use of candles.

  • The total agreed upon rental amount shall be paid no later than the date of the premises’ rental.

  • Should the event be canceled by the licensee more than 90 days prior to the scheduled date, the licensor will refund the deposit in full. If the event is cancelled by the licensee within 90 days of the scheduled date then a percentage of the deposit will be refunded, as follows:

    •  90 days or less (61-90 days) - 75% refund

    • 60 days or less (31-60 days) - 50% refund

    • 30 days or less- No refund

    At the time of rental, the licensee will provide:

    • Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to reserve the space. Plus, candle deposit. 

    • Certificate of Insurance: General liability insurance in the minimum amount of $1 million per occurrence

    • IRS Designation Letter (if applicable)

    • Copyright Statement if performing material that requires written permission or a license to perform

    • Caterer Contract (if applicable): no later than 10 days before event
