Read more about Camp Hope:
“Since opening our doors in 2012, we have helped more than 2,000 service members. Our interim housing program first addresses any unresolved childhood trauma, begins working through combat-related PTSD, engages in a recovery program for any addictions, stabilizes any mental health issues (including medication), and develops and implements effective coping skills. Once accomplished, we focus on the transition phase. We discuss healthy relationships, life’s vision, time management, help clarify values, introduce equine therapy, help with resume building, interview skills and other classes to help ready veterans into their new life. Throughout our program, we provide all meals, clothing, on-site care, any needed transportation and most importantly, 24-hour veteran mentorship with other combat veterans who personally walk each veteran through the program. These mentors are Camp Hope graduates. They tell all incoming veterans that they understand, are there to help, and communicate how much each combat veteran is loved.”
