EXECUTIVE artistic DIRECTOR
Jayme McGhan has served as the Executive Artistic Director of A.D. Players at the George Theatre since 2022. He is delighted to be helming the world’s leading Christian theatre company, combining his thirty-year faith as a follower of Jesus Christ and his love for the transformational art of theatre. His passion to tell stories of hope, joy, and redemption is deeply rooted in the redemptive grand narrative that God has laid out for all of us. Serving as the first Executive Artistic Director for the company, following in the footsteps of our Founder, Jeanette Clift George, and our previous Executive Director, Jake Speck, Jayme has a deeply-rooted passion for growing the company in every possible way to bring Glory to the Kingdom of God.
A prolific playwright and theatre artist, Jayme is the author of 28 full-length plays that have been produced and developed across the country. His A.D. Players writing credits include Apollo 8, 18 Birthdays, A Texas Carol (co-authored with Kevin Dean), A Texas Carol, Part Deux (co-authored with Kevin Dean), and Crime and Punishment: 2026. Jayme is a Resident Playwright Emeritus at Chicago Dramatists, a former company member of Cockroach Theatre (Las Vegas), a former Artistic Associate at Stage Left Theatre, and a former board member of Yellow Tree Theatre and Theatre Y. He also served as the Regional Representative of the Dramatists Guild to the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul). Jayme is an accomplished director, designer, technician, occasional actor, and educator. Jayme has served as a Professor of Theatre, Artistic Director, Department Chair, School Director, and Dean at five different universities across the country. He holds an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a BA in Theatre Arts from Southwest Minnesota State University. His favorite role is that of husband to Julie and daddy to Levi and Lydia.
