Interns train and participate in various aspects of professional theater. With one of the nation's only salaried programs, the A. D. Players offers quality training for tomorrow's artist.
Synopsis of Intern Program
The year as an intern is a challenging one, requiring many hours of hard work and a commitment to excellence. Internships are paid positions that begin either in August or September (depending on which area of the company you are placed) and are completed at the end of the next August. During this year, Interns work full-time in one or more of our departments (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday). These departments include: box office, touring company office, Theater Arts Academy, volunteer program, media/public relations, development office, costuming, set construction, and building maintenance. In addition to these assignments, Interns are used in supporting our programs in various ways. These additional assignments could include: backstage crew, parking lot managing, ushering, teaching, house managing, patron hosting before shows, phone shifts, and/or casting. In regards to casting, Interns and company actors audition for all of our productions throughout the year. Community auditions are also called, depending on the type of show. As in any theater, it is impossible to guarantee that someone will be cast during a season. Interns are responsible for their own housing and personal expenses. If you would like to be considered for an Internship with the A. D. Players beginning in 2007, please contact -
